1893: Nasce il Genoa Cricket and Athletic Football Club

E' un giovedì del settembre 1893 quando nel consolato britannico, in via Palestra 10, gli  inglesi Charles De Grave Sells, S. Green, George Blake, W. Rilley, George Dormer Fawcus, H.M. Sandys, E. De Thierry, Johnathan Summerhill sr. e Johnathan Summerhill jr., e soprattutto Charles Alfred Payton, decidono di mettersi a tavolino e fondare il Genoa Cricket and Athletic Football Club, oggi conosciuto come Genoa C.F.C.
